Area Information

While a number of properties are within walking distance of historic Main Street or the slopes, Breckenridge Colorado is served by the Free Ride Transportation System. The Free Ride travels routes through Breckenridge Colorado connecting the resort’s base areas and free parking lots, runs the perimeter of downtown, stops at the Ice Rink, City Market, Recreation Center, Village and Four O’clock Roads, Columbine and Broken Lance Drive and Peak 9.

At 9,600 ft elevation and far away from the stress of the big city life is the 149 year old town of Breckenridge Colorado. The lure of gold and quick riches brought the first settlers to this high mountain valley. Founded in 1859 as a mining camp along the banks of the Blue River, Breckenridge Colorado has experienced a rich history of boom and bust. Mining ended in the 1940′s, leaving Breckenridge Colorado on hard times for over 20 years.
